A college says there are privately owned apartments on the campus for students. Does this mean one can live there with his girlfriend. And is there any rule, not that we are planning to break any laws.
It means that there are apartments there that are not owned by the school. That the rules regarding who lives there and who does not, how long the leases are, how much the deposits are, how they approve people to live there…. these are decisions NOT made by the school, but by the folks who own the apartments. (Most importantly it means that paying for your housing is not connected with your financial aid account at the school at all.).
Also be aware most apartment complexes require you to sign leases in months, rather than semesters. So find out how long they want you to agree to stay there before you commit to anything. You don’t want to have to stay in a place long after you have graduated, transferred, or gone home for Christmas or Summer break!!!
My gf and I are planning to move into an apartment together our senior year of college, and for the sake of our parents, we are looking for a one bedroom apartment that has a lease for two people. After looking around, we can only find one bedroom apartments with a one person signing lease. Are there one bedroom apartments with a double signing lease to all?
Yes, we do two people on a lease for a one bedroom all the time. It does make things easier in terms of dealing with security deposits and other issues though if it’s just one person on the lease.
I only lived here for one year and my dog left some poo stains on the carpet that i cant get off, and I didn’t pay any pet deposit. Is it mandatory for all apartments to change the carpet?
I have never heard of the tenant changing the carpet. Usually the apartment complex will look at and assess the carpet to determine if it can be cleaned to a reasonable degree. This is done after you have moved everything out and handed in your keys. If the carpet is older than six years (at least in my complex) when the renter is moved out then it is automatically replaced, saving whatever we can for patches in other apartments such as flood damage or burn holes. I recommend having a professional carpet cleaning company with a truck mounted steam cleaner come and give you their assessment on the carpet. Ask them if they think they can get the carpet clean. If not, don’t have them do it, as you will be wasting your time and money. As far as the carpet replacement goes, depending on your location ( I’m located in the Midwestern United States) You can figure on about $10.00 a square yard, depending on the installers agreement with the complex and the quality of the carpet and pad it could be a little more or a little less, but $10.00 is a pretty safe estimate.. This is then deducted from you deposit check before it is sent to you. If the carpet is in reasonable condition then you are not charged anything for the automatic steam cleaning that takes place when a tenant moves out. GOOD LUCK!!!
I’m a young professional moving for work. I love to meet new people and I’m very social – I’ve never been to Dallas and I’m looking for a safe place and somewhere that is full of night life. I heard Uptown and Addison are good. Any good suggestions for areas and apartments to check out? Thanks!
The average age of Addison residents is significantly younger than the average age of the Texas population.

These apartments are considered nice and have good ratings. A lot of upwardly mobile professionals live there.

I’m looking for an answer from someone who knows the area. I’ll be bringing children down there so it needs to be a safe area. I’m not opposed to houses…I’m more looking for the lowest rent ranges while still paying enough to be staying above dangerous and run down apartments and areas. Any info/advice would be appreciated.
best thing would be to google it i haven’t been shopping for a house in a while.
So this apartment complex I’m looking at online is $460 a month already. The websites say that furnished apartments are available/optional. How much more would it cost a month to get one?
Traditionally it would be $150 more per month. The furniture would not be beautiful or modern but it would be functional.
I have the Sims 2 Apartment Life, and I’ve lived in the apartments in the game, but I just can’t figure out how to make apartment buildings? Please help!
Something like you make a lot and it comes up wth the option then..
Sorry I can’t remember
What breeds are usually not allowed in apartments? I want to get a dog, but I know that I’ll be moving into an apartment in a few years and I want to make sure I’ll be able to take my pet.
It all depends on what rules the apartments have. Some will have no pets policy, some may only allow birds. Or cats. Some have weight limits, some have breed restrictions.
When it is time for you to move in a few years you will just have to start researching your options in advance.
