What department of government oversees living conditions in apartments?

Posted by admin on September 1st, 2010 and filed under apartments | 1 Comment »

We just moved out of an apartment after buying our first house and now the apartment owner is trying to get us to replace things in the apartment that were old and disgusting when we moved in such as the carpet. What I need to know is what branch of government oversees the living conditions of apartments and such so that I can report them for mold and water in the AC and under the flooring, as well as electrical issues, etc. We really can’t afford the $4000 they are trying to charge us for things that were pre-existing when we moved in.

The health department or town code official- problem is that you have to prove they were there when you moved in.
Hope you have photos or past complaints to the landlord.

Where can I find affordable luxury furnished apartments in montreal?

Posted by admin on August 23rd, 2010 and filed under apartments | 1 Comment »

So I am an american student trying to study in Montreal. I have to rent a furnished apartment, but I would like to find something that cost less than $1000 a month (I am on a budget). I tried looking for apartments, but I couldn’t find anything that was nicely furnished and clean looking. Where can I find a luxury furnished apartment in montreal that cost less than $1000 a month? I would really appreciate your advice. Thanks!

affordable vs. luxury.
they are not usually one and the same.

How do I go about looking for apartments to rent?

Posted by admin on August 16th, 2010 and filed under apartments | 3 Comments »

Will be out of college in May and will be looking for my very first apartment ever. I want an apartment that is part of a house (as in a floor of a three decor, etc.) but when I search apartments online, only apartments in apartment buildings/complexes show up. Why? How can I search for a specific kind of apartment and how can I figure out how much I can afford to spend? My starting salary will be about 35k a year.

Most apartments that are part of a home are rented out by the person that owns it. Private rentals are rarely on any of those apartment websites. The private owners are less likely to spend the money on advertising. Private rentals are typically only found on craigslist & the local paper.

Are there any good apartments in Washington state?

Posted by admin on August 2nd, 2010 and filed under apartments | 1 Comment »

I’m searching for a good apartment, and I saw one that I really liked; however, I saw the reviews online that said it’s a bad apartment in a ghetto (which doesn’t seem like it’s in a ghetto). It also had many other bad reviews. I’m searching for a good apartment that doesn’t have too many bad reviews (one that has more than 3 stars). Does anyone know of any good apartments in either Puyallup or Renton? I am flexible in other cities around there.

Sometimes the reviews are left by previous tenants who are angry that they were evicted or whatnot. Managment can change over time and things might have changed a lot since those people left those reviews. Any city should have some good apartments. What would be really good would be to know what your price range is so that I could point some out to you.

How to best advertise a garage apartments-only rental site?

Posted by admin on June 6th, 2010 and filed under apartments | 1 Comment »

I recently acquired a web site that specializes in garage apartments. (Not hard to find via search) The key feature is the ability for property owners to post garage apartments for rent; prospective tenants can then browse the listings and contact owners directly.

There are plenty of shoppers coming to the site due to decent SEO, but I’m not able to attract landlords to post their listings. What’s the best way to reach out to people who own garage apartments to have them post on the site?

well marketing will cost money like advertising on yahoo/google,can you place free ads anywhere you need to reach out to Alto of people personally i would try craigslist,it really is brilliant good luck

What to name 2 identical apartments in the same building?

Posted by admin on May 31st, 2010 and filed under apartments | 1 Comment »

Hi

We own 2 identical apartments in the same building and we want to give them "clever" names to differentiate them. For example, apartment A and apartment B isn’t very interesting, "old" and "new" isn’t very attractive etc. We thought of Ying and Yang but the apartments are identical not opposites so it’s not very appropriate. Any ideas?

Thanks for your input!

Are there any sports teams in your area? Like if it was NY you could do Yankees and Mets or something like that.

How do I find apartments that are not in big buildings but rather in houses or duplexes?

I am looking for an apartment in Pittsburgh, pa but it seems every site except Craigslist (scamville) lists apartments that are part of a community or a high rise. I would like to rent an apartment in a house or a duplex. Does anyone get what I’m trying to say?

Talk with a realtor, there are tons in that area that assist with renting. And look at real estate sites, they’re not just for buyers, you’ll find lots of options for renters. A lot of home owners don’t like to deal with showing their apt’s or finding the right tenant, they have realtors do it.

What apartments can my boyfriend get into?

Posted by admin on May 5th, 2010 and filed under apartments | 3 Comments »

Me and my boyfriend have been together for a year and decided to move out with eachother. We never thought it’d be this hard, considering he is a felon. Is there any apartments in the Vancouver, Washington area that you know of will let him rent there. He is a good man trying to change his life around but no one is giving him that chance.

www.forrent.com

www.craigslist.org

You may also want to look into private party rentals. I know someone with a rental property in that area who may be willing to give you a shot with a large downpayment, lots of rules, and at least $1500/month rent.

Remember, a lot of it comes down to $$$$ and first impression. If he owns up to the errors of his ways upfront and offers a ton of money to a private owner, he’s more likely to get approved. If he shows up with prison tats, a pit bull on a chain, a bad attitude, and a "you owe me this" attitude, no one is going to take the chance.

Any apartments in/ around the Orlando, Florida area that do not have breed restrictions?

Posted by admin on April 29th, 2010 and filed under apartments | 3 Comments »

I am moving from the Gainesville area to the Orlando area. I’m looking for apartments that allow pit bulls or do not have breed restrictions. My apartment in Gainesville allows these dogs and does not have restrictions, so I know there are places that still exist that allow these dogs. I just have to find them.
I am looking for people who live in the area who already know of places. NOT people who have to do research.

We would all have to do the same research you’re going to have to do. Google is your friend, not Y&A for this.
